During the test, the following operational parameters have been monitored and measured: • temperature of premix before CCBL process; • temperature after CCBL process; • electrical consumption of CCBL KWh; • time of CCBL blending and total time including dosing phase;

• production capacity per hour; • physical and chemical parameters of the produced lubes have been tested, after completion of each production batch.

Produced and tested lubricants: • Engine oil SAE 15W40, API SL/SF, ACEA A3/B3; • Marine Cylinder oil SAE 50, TBN 70; • Hydraulic oil DIN 51524 part 2, ISO VG 32, ISO 11158; • Industrial Gear Oil ISO VG 150, DIN 51517, US STEEL 224; • Transmission oil SAE 80W90 API GL 5

Implementing of CCBL for modernisation needs: • 4 month, including production of the unit; • light adaptation of existing installation;

The CCBL offers: • High energy savings; • A multitude of different kinds of production; • OPEX savings; • Faster reaction on demands; • Big and small batches from the same installation; • Inventories reduction, both: raw materials and finished products.

First industrial tests

The first industrial test of CCBL have been carried by PRISTA OIL at their blending plant (Ruse, Bulgaria). The objective is to verify the ability of the CCBL to blend lubes during a normal and regular production of lubricants (engine oils and industrial oils).

Equipment used for testing: CCBL Blending Unit – unit with capacity of 6 MT/h, installed and delivered in 20ft sea container, including Control Room with computerised process monitoring system and LV panel board.

The blended lubes oil complied with the PRISTA manufacturing specifications. “Total time for mechanical blending as per PRISTA operational instructions is min. 2,5 hours (dosing 20 minutes and mixing at +40˚C - +60˚C), for batches up to 6 MT. With CCBL the total time has been reduced to 1 hour and 10 minutes. No additional heating has been used during the process. The consumption of electricity for 6 MT batch was 15.25 KWh” – said Chief chemical engineer at PRISTA OIL HOLDING EAD. General conclusions

CCBL has the capability to be used as a lube blending technology. The results during all tests fully satisfied all quality requirements and therefore all batches produced by CCBL technology were released for supply to customers.

The tested equipment can be used either with the manual dosing procedure or as more advanced solution co-working with automated dosing systems. CCBL provides excellent results for the production of both small (up to 6 MT) and large batches.

Each blender may adapt easily the CCBL equipment, depending on his plant’s infrastructure. Everyone can calculate the energy savings easily, taking into account its own energy consumption during the current blending process and compare it with CCBL operational electricity consumption.

PRISTA OIL dosing equipment: 2 blending vessels, each 6 MT capacity. The results was measured by plant’s laboratory, accredited as per EN ISO/IEC 17025:2006, organisational member of ASTM INTERNATIONAL.
