Last week there was a total of... one title authored by a person of colour in the Official UK Top 50 (defin- ing “author” in the purest sense of the word, which excludes YouTubers The Sidemen): Paul Beaty’s The Sellout, fresh off its historic Man Booker Prize win, is in 14th place. To find a UK BAME writer, you have to scroll all the way down to 368th place,
