How to Future Proof Your Mission Aircraft

Troll’s Network LinkBox provides a network bridge between air and ground operations. Troll Systems’ FAA and FCC certified Network LinkBox simplifies the control and management of voice, video, and data transmission; encoding, decoding, and encryption. The Network LinkBox connects airborne cameras, antennas, mapping and mission payloads to a wireless air- to-ground IP network. Using Ethernet as the common denominator, the LinkBox creates a bidirectional network bridge that can adapt to current and future mission payloads across multiple frequencies.

Troll’s Network LinkBox supports long- range and tactical video data links in DVB-T, MIMO, TCDLs, CDLs, cellular and standard communication protocols. It’s designed to facilitate the rapid integration of third-party equipment. Its

multi-port

Ethernet switch and router provide a seamless connection to control cameras, mapping systems, tracking antennas, and

other specialized sensors and equipment. Ethernet further simplifies security, control, and data management, while providing a means to distribute encrypted content to mobile or networked devices over customer specified networks, cellular or internet infrastructure.

Troll’s Network LinkBox can support any video input, including multiple video streams from onboard cameras, sensors

and mapping systems. Live video capture can be displayed on the LinkBox touch screen monitor or external monitor via HDMI. Radio options are flexible and can be configured for each application. Audio is supported in both analog and embedded modes, and data may be sent over serial or native IP links. Bidirectional options are available to support full network bridging, routing, and connection to and from the aircraft.

V-280 Valor Achieves 100 Percent Completion

The Bell V-280 Valor has achieved 100 percent build completion and moved one step closer to its first flight this fall. The V-280 is the newest revolutionary aircraft in the tiltrotor family. The V-280 Valor was selected in August 2014 to advance, build, and fly an aircraft within the JMR- TD program.

The V-280 has been designed to provide the military with the speed, range and operational productivity needed to complete any mission successfully and outmatch every opponent. New innovations incorporated in the V-280 include stationary nacelles, which increases the ease of aircraft maintenance and safety of ingress and egress. The newest tiltrotor offers fixed-wing high- speed performance and low-speed agility.
