Taxis: Pink and plentiful. Check the meter’s on. Negotiate for day trips. Sawngthaew: Cheap truck-style buses. Long-tail boats: Wooden boats with


outboard motors providing ferry-style services or charters on sea and river. LONGER DISTANCE Train: Chiang Mai, Hua Hin and Malaysia connect well with Bangkok. railway.co.th Bus/minibus: Government buses connect major resorts cheaply.
