LEISURE & HOSPITALITY HELLO WEMBLEY!

Wembley Stadium is known across the world as a prestigious venue for music and sports events, as well as luxury corporate hospitality. To maintain its

opulent image, The Football Association commissioned a refurbishment of their sponsors’ lounge from British design led furniture manufacturers, Allermuir.

The brief was to design an area that was informal, relaxed and comfortable, breaking away from the traditional conservative layout to create a more contemporary setting. The FA was looking for a fresh and innovative approach to the interior design of the hospitality lounge, the furniture playing a key part in the new, contemporary setting.

THE SOLUTION Having worked on the National

Football Centre, Allermuir’s parent company, The Senator Group, had developed a strong relationship with The FA. Building on the learnings from that project, the Wembley Stadium Hospitality was a perfect match for Allermuir and their dealer partner Hunters Contracts.

Allermuir and Hunters worked in partnership with The FA and Wembley Stadium to create an elegant and creative space to host a variety of high profile events. As the backdrop to England and FA Cup matches and other hospitality events, the lounge needed to provide a variety of furnishing solutions for the area’s different uses. Having extensive experience working with hospitality and leisure clients across the world, Allermuir brought in this expertise to advise on space planning, creating areas for casual dining and easy conversation from just two people to larger groups.

With this in mind, the team selected a variety of soft seating, high stools, high tables, dining tables and coffee tables that would respond to the variety of areas identified. When speaking of the solution, Gary Thomas, Hunters Contracts, said: “It became apparent that the space would, on occasion, welcome a large volume of guests, so it was important to ensure that the interior was able

to adapt. The selection of high tables and chairs as well as soft seating and coffee tables, allows visitors to sit for longer periods of time for intimate conversations as well as comfortably perch within a larger group. As a result, we selected a range of products, which would create the core furnishing to the area.” The range of products selected by Allermuir and Hunters Contracts included the ever popular Casper, Conic, Tommo, Kojack, Lola and Dine and classic tables.

Whilst the finish was to be of a high standard in line with the

guests who would ultimately enjoy the Hospitality Lounge, great consideration was also given to the durability of the products that inhabit the space. The Sponsors’ Lounge entertains guests at a multitude of events throughout the year – from sports games, to music concerts – and as such needed to withstand use. Responding to the challenge, the products such as Kojak were chosen because of their comfort and soft residential feel, but at the same time tough contract durability, being made from solid PU rubber moulded over a steel frame.

THE RESULTS Allermuir and Hunters helped to

create a vibrant, contemporary and fresh interior design of the Hospitality Lounge. Launching at an England friendly match against San Marino, the space was welcomed by 500 visitors including celebrity guests and media, who enjoyed the refurbished Lounge and the comfort it provided.

The clients Procurement Manager of The FA Group, said: “Our new Sponsors’ Lounge has been very well received; we’re delighted with the finished result and found the whole process from design to installation ran very smoothly. The Senator Group worked with us and our chosen partners to create a remarkable area, which we are very proud of. The quality of the products is very high, in fitting with the calibre of guests we entertain on a regular basis.”

The requirements of this project is an example of what Allermuir have seen as an increasing trend in both the hospitality and workplace markets, where a soft eclectic look is desired by the client, without compromising on the quality or service.
