FEATURE Tou-Can Play That Game

Robert Scott & Sons Ltd tells us more about their partnership with Centrego Ltd and their Toucan Range of ECA Water Systems.

Robert Scott & Sons Ltd, suppliers of wholesale cleaning, janitorial, spraying and hygiene solutions, have announced an agreement with Centrego Ltd to promote and distribute Centrego’s range of ElectroChemical Activation (ECA) products.

Centrego Ltd design, develop and manufacture ECA systems that generate mixed cleaning and disinfectant solutions on-site using just tap water and salt, producing cost-effective and environmentally sensitive solutions for use in a wide range of facilities including schools, nurseries, offices, hotels, pubs, restaurants, shops, public buildings and clinics. The solutions are effective at cleaning and disinfecting all hard surfaces and also remove stains form carpets and fabrics.

Alastair Scott, Sales Director Robert Scott & Sons Ltd commented: “This is an exciting new development for us and is further demonstration of our commitment to introduce innovative new product lines to our customer base. The Centrego range of Toucan ECA water systems offer an eco- friendly and independently tested and proven way to clean and disinfect hard flooring surfaces without the need for chemicals of any kind, and the environmental problems associated with them. We will initially be offering the Toucan 12, 25 and 40 litre machines which we feel are the most relevant to our customer’s needs especially those involved within the Healthcare and Catering Sectors.”

Robin Turner, Director of Centrego Ltd, added: “In a research project recently carried out by the University West of England’s Department of Biological, Biomedical and Analytical Sciences, Centrego’s Toucan products were proven to kill up to 99.999% of microorganism such as E. coli, Salmonella, Staph, aureus, MRSA, Listeria and Bacillus subtilis. combining the strengths of both our companies, we are confident that the operational, environmental and commercial benefits of using ECA systems in cleaning and disinfecting tasks can be more widely promoted resulting in cleaner, safer and more cost effective workplace environments.”

ECA Technology ECA Technology is the term used to describe Electrical Chemical Activation processes that produce powerful but entirely safe disinfectants and cleaning solutions using only the simple inputs of ordinary water and salt passed

across a patented electrochemical cell. The solutions generated are non-toxic, non-allergenic and totally harmless to macro-organisms, including humans. This makes it safe to use across a wide variety of environments and applications.

Solutions can be either generated in small ‘batch generators’ or for large volumes at high concentrations, through ‘flow-through’ generators. Control systems regulate the quality and properties of the solutions to make on-site production easy.

ECA Technology represents an environmentally sensitive biocide technology desired to eliminate all forms of micro-organisms in water supplies, on work surfaces and fabrics and materials. The inputs of water and salt are naturally occurring and sustainable products while the output biocide is pH neutral, non-toxic and non-hazardous to all macro-organisms while being totally effective against all bacteria, viruses, cysts, protozoa, algae and spores with no mutation or resistance. The technology allows for the biocides to be produced easily, cheaply and efficiently on-site, which combined with the sustainable properties of the inputs gives it a very small environmental footprint.

Speaking about the range Alastair Scott said: “ECA water will be a perfect system to use with our range of Microfibre moping systems including the new Stream2 range of mops. Busy environments with hard flooring demand a quick, effective cleaning regime. In hospitals, care homes and catering environments, where cleanliness is of paramount importance, the use of ECA water will not only provide a proven standard of cleanliness but also enable a quick and highly cost effective way to ensure floors are clean, safe and free from harmful bacteria”.
