A Mitie Partnership


Mitie’s Environmental + team secured a multi-million pound cleaning contract with transport provider Arriva, which commenced in September 2014. The contract is being carried out by the Environmental + specialist transport experts, who already work with major airports and train and bus operators around the country.


What Was Arriva


Looking For? Mitie was awarded the contract last July and began work on it in September, providing vehicle cleaning, shunting, fuelling and depot and premises cleaning to over 1,600

buses at 24 locations across the north of England.


When looking at outsourcing options, Arriva was looking for a supplier who could inspire and engage with the 250 people who would be transferring across. There also needed to be a focus on safe systems and processes on-site and Arriva was looking to standardise practices in order to improve quality. The company was open to trying new things whilst maintaining its best-in-class status.


Arriva is divided into different regions, all with their own stakeholders and specific


Mitie brings a strong team with it, with dedicated experts in training, QHSE and compliance. These experts work only in the transport sector and so they were able to bring their unique knowledge with them from working with other major transport providers in the UK.
