LAMPS & LIGHTING LTD.
A UK-based lighting designer, manufacturer and supplier of high quality technical solutions, specialising in energy efficient light sources and intelligently controlled lighting systems.
L&L is a British lighting manufacturer and distributor that also offers a full project lighting design and energy saving appraisal service. Founded in 1971, we have over 45 years of experience in developing innovative lighting solutions.
Our high quality lighting solutions can be found in many different applications. Some of these include office & commerce, industry & transport, education, community housing and healthcare.
LIGHTING SOLUTIONS We manufacture a range of LED luminaires for both interior and exterior applications. Our three lighting brands differentiate our range of luminaires to suit different needs and requirements.
Steon® is our technical range of high quality durable LED luminaires typically found in commercial, healthcare, education, community housing, industry and retail environments. We offer lighting controls on our Steon® products to maximise energy savings for our clients.
Our Luxace® brand features a selection of modern decorative LED luminaires. These are most suitable for contemporary environments that require decorative solutions.
Our latest brand, Historix, features a range of high quality traditional decorative luminaires. These hand-crafted luminaires feature the latest LED technology, and are typically found in listed buildings.
We understand the individual needs of each client and one of our unique selling points is that we can produce 100% bespoke luminaires.
LIGHTING DESIGN Our in-house lighting design team have a true and comprehensive understanding of project-based lighting, and we provide our clients with site surveys, technical lighting calculations and 3D visuals prior to installation.
Our enthusiasm to innovate and look to the future of lighting design is what keeps us at the forefront of our sector.
INTELLIGENT LIGHTING
CONTROLS Intelligent lighting systems can avoid unnecessary energy consumption and reduce operating costs. We are able to control light levels (lux) on our Steon® luminaires based on different parameters, such as occupancy, motion and amount of ambient natural light.
Our Manual Intelligent Control (MIC) system uses a microwave presence detector that monitors the detection zone for occupancy. Further lighting control is available with our Remote Intelligent Control (RIC) system. This system dynamically dims luminaires dependent upon fluctuating levels of natural light whilst maintaining a consistent lux level.
Our intelligent control systems have been utilised in over 3000 BT telephone exchanges with confirmed energy savings in excess of 70%.
EASE OF INSTALLATION Many of our products are now available with the ‘plug-and-connect’ system whereby lighting designs can be rapidly and easily installed. Traditional installations are labour intensive, offer little flexibility and require costly electrical expertise. The ‘plug-and- connect’ system can quickly install a lighting scheme without the need for an electrician simply through attaching the luminaires together through a plug and socket type system. A recent office installation consisting of 36 modular luminaires was installed in under 45 minutes.
MADE IN THE UK We are completely confident in the performance of our products and have a strong ethos for using domestically sourced, quality components. On any occasion where this is not possible we endeavour to source from Europe, and design and manufacture at our premises in Lancashire to an incredibly high standard with full traceability.
