The Postgraduate Support Scheme (PSS) supported students progressing to postgraduate taught education. It focused on students who are under-represented at postgraduate level and in subjects aligned with the Government’s growth strategies.


The HEFCE PSS which provided scholarships to contribute to the costs of masters study was discontinued after 2015/16 as planned, with the introduction of loan schemes for postgraduate masters students

The NCTL training bursaries are a financial incentive to attract and retain high quality graduates into the teaching profession.


Funding body bursaries and other student grants received as detailed in notes 30 and 31 are available solely for students and student support; the University acts only as a paying agent.
