CARLTON HOTEL MANAGEMENT TARGETS 2,000 ROOMS BY 2020


With bold expansion plans in its sights, Carlton Hotel Management aims to grow its portfolio in the coming years to 2,000 rooms. Owned by Dubai’s The First Investor group, a subsidiary of Al Fardan Group, the company is working towards boosting its inventory by 51 percent, adding 683 keys to its current room roster of 1,317, by 2020. Of the existing rooms in operation, 1,142 are in Dubai, with 85 in Jordan and 90 in the Czech Republic. Carlton Hotel Management has emerged as a


major player in the hospitality sector, with invest- ments of over US$605 million (AED2.2 billion) in various hotel projects. The investment is set to reach US$ 735 million (AED2.7 billion) by 2020. Hotels currently owned by the company


include Carlton Downtown – Dubai, Carlton Palace Hotel–Dubai, Carlton Tower Hotel – Dubai, Marri- ott Executive Apartments – Dubai, Villa Rotana – Dubai, Four Points by Sheraton - Dubai, Imperial Palace – Jordan, Sun Hotel - Czech Republic and Belvedere Hotel, Czech Republic. Carlton Hotel Management recently


announced the purchase of Carlton Downtown Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai. It is the third hotel to be operated by Carlton Hotel Manage- ment – the ninth in the group’s collection of hotels. HYATT TO DOUBLE ITS MIDDLE EASTERN PORTFOLIO


Hyatt Hotels has announced plans to double its presence in the Middle East from 14 to 28 prop- erties across the Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric, Hyatt Place, and Hyatt House brands. “We believe the new agreements being


unveiled today, along with the previously announced properties under development, demonstrate growing confidence among owners and developers in the strength of Hyatt-branded hotels in the Middle East and GCC,” said Peter Norman, Senior Vice President, Acquisitions and


Development – Europe, Africa, and Middle East and Southwest Asia. The announcement also marks a significant


milestone for Hyatt with the introduction of the Hyatt Centric brand to the Middle East. Two Centric properties slated to open include Hyatt Centric The Palm Dubai, which will feature 217 guestrooms and 116 serviced apartments, and Hyatt Centric West Bay Doha with 238 gues- trooms and 83 serviced apartments. ———
