hopeful HBCU presidents took a trip to Washington, DC to meet with the Trump administration.
If one were
to apply the adage, the devil is in the details, everyone can agree that a devil is the last thing HBCUs will need to be concerned with, since there were no details. Other than moving the oversight of HBCU progress from the department of education to the White House, the executive order the president signed regarding HBCUs was only symbolic.

Private HBCUs have different struggles from public HBCUs. While many predominantly white institutions (PWIs) continue

Other public HBCUs struggle to keep their assets, like North Carolina A&T, which had some of its farm land reappropriated by the state legislature for a shared nanoengineering project with a local liberal arts PWI, several

University, for speaking out against the negative portrayal of HBCUs on television. We want to counter those portrayals with articles about students who are doing great things like the North
Carolina A&T student who
received a $100,000 scholarship from Buick and $25,000 from Apple. She could have attended any university in the world but chose to attend an HBCU, North Carolina A&T, because of its esteemed engineering school.
We recognize that there are
many HBCU advocates that have been tirelessly working for decades for the benefit of HBCUs, including the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the United Negro College Fund. The HBCU Advocate will leverage relationships with these organizations for the additional strength that comes from organizations working together to achieve a common goal.
