Lucinda Lamont joined The Business Magazine in 2017 as Solent business manager to strengthen relationships with key clients and sponsors, and grow the presence of the Solent & South Coast edition of the magazine and the awards campaigns within the region. She brings a wealth of experience in winning new business but more importantly, retaining the clients she deals with. She has a nine-year background in developing client relations and does so with a great amount of care and diligence.
BDO is continuing its investment and focus on top talent by appointing new tax partner, Erin Davis (centre), to its Southampton office. Joining the largest tax team in the region this month, Davis joins from PKF Francis Clark, having previously spent time with KPMG. Davis brings a wealth of knowledge in corporate tax, and insight into the business landscape in the Dorset area. Davis comments: “I am delighted to be joining BDO in Southampton. Law firm Moore Blatch has appointed Lee Edwards as a new partner specialising in commercial property. Edwards, who joins from Irwin Mitchell, will be based in Moore Blatch’s Southampton office. He brings over 20 years of legal experience in all aspects of commercial property including planning and land development, with clients including clearing banks and developers.
Local Southampton law firm Moore Blatch, which also has offices in Lymington, the City of London and Richmond, has appointed Alison Lloyd as a new associate lawyer specialising in probate services. Primarily specialising in estate work, Lloyd has over 20 years’ legal experience including all aspects of probate services, acting for executors and personal representatives.
Mike Pavitt, partner and head of corporate restructuring and insolvency at law firm Paris Smith LLP, has spoken of his honour after being appointed chairman of the southern committee of insolvency and restructuring trade body R3. An active member of R3 for 10 years, Pavitt will now serve a three-year term in his new role taking over from Andrew Watling, partner at Quantuma in Southampton.
Maria Samra joins KPMG this month as a managing director to head up the firm’s consultancy practice across the south. Samra will manage a growing team of management and risk consultants with expertise in technology-enabled business transformation, financial services, forensics and cyber security, programme management and assurance.
Duncan Lamb joins BDO as a corporate finance partner leading the M&A team in the south. He has over 20 years experience of completing mid-market deals and has been based in the Thames Valley for the past 19 years, where he is regarded as being one of the most active advisers in the region. Lamb has spent the past 10 years building an outstanding reputation for focusing on technology and specialist engineering deals, with many of his transactions being private-equity based.
