Bike Ride hoping for ‘seventh heaven’ in 2017!
They say ‘seven’ is a lucky number and the organisers of the Greater Haywards Heath Bike Ride are hoping for yet another lucky sunny day next year, on Sunday 2nd April, when yet again this annual community event gives everyone a great day of riding and fun!
Last year’s Bike Ride saw over 700 riders, including riders from our Twinned Towns, set off in brilliant sunshine and the day raised over £14,000 for the Maternity Unit at PRH. The 2017 Bike Ride will, again, have four routes – from the family friendly 12 mile to the ‘Wiggins Way’ at 74 miles for cyclists wanting a challenge! All riders will be ‘chipped’ once more so everyone will know just how well they did and, for next year, not only will there be Feed Stations for the longer rouges, but we’ve even ordered Portaloos where other facilities aren’t available!
As ever, there’ll be a resounding send off for all riders and cheering crowds to welcome home tired riders in The Broadway, along with live music and a special commemorative medal.
As Chairman, Martyn Armitage, says: “We always hope our Bike Ride is tough enough for the serious riders, but within the grasp of the rest of us, as well as being a good day for families; what we do promise everyone, however, is a truly great time!
our local charities in 2017 so come along and join us for our seventh (and BEST) day ever!”
We’re also hoping to break the record for
