173rd Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta 24 – 26 August This is Dartmouth’s flagship and longest running event with many water and land based events and a programme of entertainment and fun for all the family. The sailing element has grown to become the country’s most significant regatta after Cowes with many sailors returning year after year.


Darthaven


make special berthing provisions for the large numbers of yachts (up to 40 feet in length) visiting to compete though we regret we are unable to accommodate “mother ships.” A marquee is normally erected on Darthaven premises to provide crews and supporters with food and drink during the event. Permanent berth holders have an ideal base for either participating in the Regatta or for spectating – including a splendid vantage point for the


various air displays which have previously included the Red Arrows, an RAF Typhoon, Sea King helicopters etc. Sailing schedule:

The International Agatha Christie Festival 13 – 17 September This international event has just moved to an exciting biennial cycle with a range of events celebrating the works, times and legacy of Devon’s most successful author. The event is based in Torquay but has a number of events scheduled to take place in Greenway, Galmp- ton – the family holiday home now managed by The National Trust and just a walk or short boat journey away from Darthaven Marina. www.agathachristiefestival.com
