Birth, Death, and Rebirth - By Iona Leigh

I turned 28 this year and i have been very aware of journeying into my Saturn Return. Within a period of a fortnight, my husband Rob and I bought our first house, celebrated our son Gavin's1st birthday, and grieved the loss of my father Paul. His death came as a great shock as he passed away very suddenly of a pulmonary embolism. Apart from letter writing, I had been virtually estranged from my father over the past decade, during which time I have been working with forgiveness. Reading, music, art, healing meditations, gratitude prayers, reading, and the essences have been helpful tools. Interestingly, my father sent me The Dalai Lama's Book of Wisdom as a Christmas gift some years ago … and this became my forgiveness bible, in the same way that it had become his.

As Marion’s daughter, I grew up using the essences and recently re-discovered what a true gift they are in times of shock, trauma, pain and depression. After hearing the news, Rob grabbed for the First Aid, and I used this for the first few days after hearing the shocking news. Rob and I also used Energy Shield as a protection essence before entering my father’s apartment and then sprayed all of the rooms with Sacred Space. At the same time, I found that Gavin responded well to Calm Me Down, as he dad seemed a little unsettled. More recently, I've been using Light Being, when feeling a little blue in these dark winter months.

And as I write this, tears stream down my face and I am reminded how the power of unconditional love ultimately leads to healing through forgiveness. After many years of anger and sorrow, I am now able to have a joyful connection with my father as I visualise him surrounded by light and know that I was the best daughter I could be by simply accepting, forgiving and loving him unconditionally. This has been my own re-birth into my new role as his LOVING daughter ... a deeper acceptance. For as Zidler the Bohemian says in my favorite film Moulin Rouge : “The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return.”
