7 Simple Steps for Winter Prep Winter Steps
• In cold weather, keep your heating at a temperature
• Check your roof and guttering for damage and
make sure overspill pipes are not trickling water

• Check that your heating is working correctly
• Locate your stopcock so
you can turn off your water in an emergency
• Don’t leave a hose in an outside tap. Before
the cold weather sets in, isolate the water supply to it

• Leave internal doors open to help keep
the heat circulating around the house
• Ask a trusted neighbour to look after your house keys if
you are away so that access to your property can be made in an emergency. Make sure they have the CA number for emergencies
