Is your child struggling in

school? Is your child experiencing any difficulties with learning, attention, concentration or behaviour in school? Are you concerned about possible dyslexia? If so, the earlier it is addressed the better. All children experience difficulties at

some point but if the difficulties are ongoing, it may be the sign of an underlying problem. What can you do? Bring your child to see an Educational Psychologist for an assessment. Educational Psychologists are trained to work with students, to help identify areas which may be affecting their learning and to help put strategies in place to enable them achieve their best in the classroom. Who are Éirim? Éirim is an Irish word meaning ‘talent’. They are Educational Psychologists passionate about children and enabling them achieve their best. Éirim have over 15 years experience working with schools, parents and children throughout Ireland. They provide a range of educational assessments tailored to suit the needs of your child. During an assessment they first meet with you to discuss your concerns and then meet with your child for the main assessment. Many parents are nervous about their child receiving an assessment. This is normal but the vast majority love working with the Educational Psychologist as it’s fun and something different for them. Éirim’s assessments can diagnose learning difficulties, such as dyslexia (problems with literacy) or dyscalculia (problems with maths) and help to put appropriate support structures in place. They can also be used to apply for various resources in school (e.g. resource hours, exemptions, assistive technology). A detailed report with specific recommendations is made for your child based on their individual learning profile and needs. Éirim can respond quickly to requests, providing you with immediate access to their support and guidance. All reports are accepted by the Department of Education and Skills and the Department’s Agencies (e.g. the National Council for Special Education and the National Educational Welfare Board). To arrange an assessment for your child or to talk to one of our psychologists for a free telephone consultation, call us on 01 4992217 www.eirim.ie.
