Organizations offer free independent retailers workshop in Suffolk


Suffolk Economic Development along with Hampton Roads Small Business Development Center (SBDC) are hosting a FREE workshop titled “Competing with the Big Boys: How Independent Retailers Win & Keep the Customer” presented by Marc Willson. Mr. Willffer son brings over 35 years of retailing experience and will address issues that are vital to small town merchants, such as, independent retailers need to have a strategy to win new customers while keeping existing customers buying, versus them picking a large box store or national chain. Endurance IT Services to build headquarters and add 62 new jobs


Endurance IT Services, a Virginia Beach information technology services


firm, has announced plans to more than double its workforce and build a new 15,000-square-foot headquarters facility. The company provides information technology including infrastructure services, IT staffing, IT consulting, project management and managed services for private-sector clients.

Endurance IT Services, founded in 2008 by Blake White, has purchased a two-acre site on Greenwich Road for the new headquarters location. Currently, the company has 52 full-time employees, and the expansion will include an additional 62 new jobs with average annual salaries of $85,000 to $95,000. The jobs include systems analyst, server engineer, network engineer, infrastructure engineer, project managers, fractional IT director, business development, business analyst and help desk engineer. The company's growth has been remarkable, and it continues to receive


awards including Best Places to Work in Hampton Roads and Best Places to Work in Virginia. It was also named on the 2016 Inc 5000 List of Fastest Growing Companies. The Virginia Beach Development Authority has awarded an Economic


Development Investment Program grant in the amount of $105,000 based on the number of jobs created. Endurance IT Services will invest more than $1.3 million in real estate, fixtures and business equipment. "The growth of Endurance IT Services reflects the strength of our


local technology workforce, which is critical as we continue to diversify our economy," said Virginia Beach Economic Development Director Warren D. Harris. "The skill sets demanded by companies today are more dynamic and complicated than at any time in history.
