One of the most rewarding aspects of working within a chamber environment is the ability to connect with the membership and to be able to provide a resource for their business needs. Whether it is the provision of a much needed cost reduction or service program, referral of a member's business or being the conduit to represent the membership's perspective, it is very gratifying.
During this next year I look forward to continuing this work on your behalf. Developing further programs and services to augment our current offering to provide extensive value for your membership.
There are many compelling reasons why membership in The Assiniboia Chamber is ben- eficial to you and your business. One of the key reasons is your support of our Mission "To foster a healthy business and professional community in the Assiniboia Chamber of Com- merce region that works together for economic growth, promotes entrepreneurship and is dedicated to competitive enterprise". Working toward this mission will create opportunity for your business and benefit our community overall.
We have high expectations for the coming year - working with our board of directors and committees, we will be establishing a renewed sense of purpose for chamber programs. Not only will we be continuing the monthly member meetings, there will be a new focus on developing opportunities to promote your business and making new business connections. Professional development, learning experiences, networking and cooperative marketing are some of the initiatives for the coming year.
An aggressive membership growth target has been set to ensure that we continue to ex- pand the chamber network and provide further value to our membership. The power of our collective voice increases with a stronger and more representative business community.
The Assiniboia Chamber of Commerce has been representing the west side of Winnipeg since 1930, this is your chamber, your voice to government and to each other. The Assini- boia district is vibrant and becoming more so with extensive commercial and residential developments in place and underway.
