introducing various efficiencies over their many years in business to eliminate wastage and reduce their carbon footprint. Their material of choice is Accoya® – an engineered wood that is created from only FSC®or PEFC™ certified tree species. Despite being a softwood, it’s a Class one timber meaning it is just about as durable as wood can be. It lasts 50 years above ground and 25 years in soil, is indigestible to insects and virtually rot-proof. Swelling and shrinkage is also dramatically reduced which means it’s easier for Westbury to machine and process, and for end users to maintain. Founder and Director Jonathan Hey says “We
