New management for ‘London’s finest marina’


T


he Blackstone Group has appointed Camper & Nicholsons Marinas to take over the management and


operation of St Katharine Docks, acknowledged to be ‘London’s finest marina’. The historic docks, located by


Tower Bridge and the Tower of London, are due to undergo a careful refurbishment and restoration programme, which will see the marina re-launched later this year under the Camper & Nicholsons brand, with 170 new berths with a maximum LOA of 40+ metres. As a global leader in the luxury yachting industry, Camper & Nicholsons brings a wealth of experience from owning, managing and operating many of the world’s finest marinas, including the award-winning Çeşme Marina in Turkey, Grand Harbour Marina in Malta and Port Louis Marina in Grenada. Marina opened in Gibraltar


The Gibraltar Government’s Mid-Harbour Small Boats Marina, built by Marinetek, was officially opened on 26 April by Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and Gilbert Licudi, Minister for Education and Justice. The 700-berth facility for


local boats up to ten metres in length is complemented by a fixed breakwater, which acts as both a public promenade and mooring pier for superyachts and passenger vessels. The complete facility – Mid-Harbour Small Boats Marina, Public Promenade and Super Yacht Wharf – was described by Mr Picardo as “the largest, one-off marina engineering project in the
