BOAT HOISTS 27

Boat hoist with 85,000 kg capacity R

ecently introduced to its network of international and domestic distributors by Marine Travelift Inc is the

85 BFMII boat hoist, which features an impressive list of technological innovations in addition to expanded capacity. The new machine was designed

to align with market trends and the growing size of vessels in the leisure sailing market. As craft are built to larger and heavier specifications, there is a need for a boat hoist with higher capacity to lift them while maintaining current infrastructure. According to Jason Johnson, the

company’s North American Director of Sales, one of the benefits of the new 85 BFMII design is the tyre width and wheel frame profile. The new model was designed with existing launch bay perimeters in mind, thus providing a turnkey

solution for marinas to upgrade hoisting capacity without the expense of upgrading their current infrastructure. The 85 BFMII was engineered from the mechanical reliability of

the existing Marine Travelift boat hoists with additional innovations and features that are paramount to the industry. The 85 BFMII is the latest installment of the BFMII line and includes several

Italian hoist for Dutch yard

A remotely-controlled, high lift capacity, four-wheel-drive boat hoist with all-wheel steering has been delivered to the yard of Next Generation Shiplift in Lauweersoog, The Netherlands, by Boat Lift Srl of Italy. Boat Lift mobile boat hoists

are designed and manufactured to guarantee the utmost safety

and reliability relying on the most up-to-date technology. All the company’s machines feature an electronic steering system for perfect wheel alignment under any circumstances. By simply pressing a push-button on the touch screen, it is possible to pass from one mode to another: four steering wheels – two steering wheels and

two skid steering – crab steering. Hoists are equipped with a

weighing system complete with bolted load cells, mounted on blocks. This system has a double function: to limit the lifted load beyond the admitted capacity (three attention/ operation thresholds); and to control the aft and forward weight of the craft

being moved via an on-board display. They also feature a device

that progressively speeds up or slows down the machine to avoid risky swinging of the craft during transport. Boat Lift Srl info@boatlift.it www.boatlift.it

beneficial features and options. From new industrial tyres and a modified wheel frame to a new slew bearing system with easy access grease points and sealed housing, every detail of this boat hoist was designed with the customer in mind. Johnson pointed out that the

Parker IQAN system is an impressive addition to the current BFMII design for added operator convenience. Operators have intelligent diagnostics on engine performance and machine function with this system through LCD displays on the redesigned cab and on the new radio remote. Another benefit for marinas with the 85 BFMII is its increased hydraulic sling adjustment speed, which aids operator efficiency.
