The University of Missouri System President, Timothy Wolfe, has resigned after months of protests from students, faculty, and members of the community over the poor handling of recent racially charged incidents.
These incidents include a swastika drawn in human feces in a dormitory bathroom, a number of racial slurs directed at African American students, and what has been viewed as a blatant disregard for the marginalized university.

During the evening, a North Carolina A&T business student was surprised with a
scholarship from Daymond John, founder of FUBU and Shark on ABC's series, Shark Tank. John received an award at the gala, as did John O. Brennan, Director of the Central Intelligence Agency. Brennan attended the event to accept the TMCF National Hero Award, which he received for his interest in increasing diversity at the CIA.
