coast of Maine has to be Wesmac in Surry. Over the last several years they have had a long waiting list for those looking get one of their boats. Right now is no different. When I stopped there in early November outside was BATTLE WAGON. She was very near completion and was going to be launched that afternoon with sea trials the following day. Then she was going to get hauled out, have her tower put on, and would be launched in about a week’s time. BATTLE WAGON was fi nished as a sportfi shing boat for a well-known television personality. She is a Wesmac 46 Superwide with two staterooms and a head down, with galley up in the shelter. She is powered with a C-18 Caterpillar diesel.

Inside there was another Wesmac 46 Superwide, which was being fi nished off as the Isle au Haut ferry. She is replacing the wooden 50 footer built by Red McAllister of Beal & Bunker of Mount Desert Island.

Her engine, a C-18 Caterpillar, is on as well as some of the bulkheads. She is scheduled to be fi nished and delivered by 1 June. Next to her is a Wesmac 46 being fi n- ished out as a pleasure boat for a customer from Maryland. She has a double stateroom and head below, with galley up. She will be fi nished in December, but will not be launched until the spring.

Another 46 Superwide is being fi nished

out as a sportfi sherman for a customer from Portsmouth, NH. She has a similar lay-out as BATTLE WAGON.

Also underway in the shop is a Wesmac 54. She will be powered with a 1,925-hp Cat- erpillar. For accommodation she will have a double stateroom and head down, with the galley up. This will be a long project taking another two years to complete.

Others on order includes a 38 sedan Continued on Page 22.
