South All-Stars pass to a victory over the North Gavin Pruett, a quarter-


back from Capistrano Val- ley High School, passed for four touchdowns, setting a new Orange County game record. Nick Brown, a quar- terback from Los Alamitos, was on the losing end, but set an Orange County passing re- cord, throwing for 283 yards. Brown broke John Huarte’s


(Mater Dei) record of 250 yards, held since 1961. Pruett threw for two first- quarter touchdowns, a 16- yard and a 44-yard strike. Af- ter swapping punts, the South got on the scoreboard with a 22-yard touchdown pass, but trailed 21-6 at half time. The North gave up a safety to start the third quarter. The


South ended their scoring with a 24-yard touchdown pass, with 10:55 remaining in the game. The North came roaring


back, scoring two touch- downs late in the fourth quar- ter, but fell short. The South took the victory, 30-20, and now holds a one-game edge over the North, 27-26-3.

Logan Wetherholt from Foothill High had no problem handling the big North linemen. Wetherholt accounted for two sacks in the All-Star game.


Christian Williams, a wide receiver from Villa Park, completes a pass against the South. The South won over the North, 30-20.


Logan Wetherholt was unstoppable as he sacked quarterback Gavin Pruett.
