There’s lots to do at the Library L
ibraries are fun places for children and their families. Children can join the library from birth and borrow up to twenty books for three weeks for FREE. There are lots of different kinds of books for babies such as board books, picture books, “touch and feel” books and lift-the-flap books. You can also hire CDs of stories and rhymes free of charge. DVDs are also available for hire.
For parents and carers of young children there are books on helping bring up baby. Many libraries provide Bookstart Baby Bounce and Rhyme sessions for babies and storytimes for toddlers. For details please visit the Library website

All library members under 5 can join the Bookstart Bear Club. You receive a membership pack and can collect Bookstart Bear paw print stamps in your special passport for each library visit. After every six stamps, you receive a certificate and there are 10 to collect.

Dear Zoo lift the flap book - Rod Campbell.
This classic lift-the-flap book has been a favourite with older babies and toddlers ever since it was first published.

The Elephant takes the Bad Baby for a ride and they go ‘rumpeta, rumpeta, rumpeta down the road.’ They help themselves to ice creams, pies, buns,
etc. All ends well as the Bad Baby learns to say ‘Please’ and his mother makes pancakes for everyone.
For Toddlers

Look who’s hiding under those sticks. Say hello to the fluffy chicks. Follow the friendly puppy as he scampers around
the farmyard saying hello to all the animals. Toddlers will love to stroke the soft, velvety animals and to join in making their noises.
