Note: The sitter wears a uniform of a Post Captain of three years seniority, 1812-15. He has been made a military Companion of the Bath and wears a Naval General Service Medal. This medal was instituted in 1846 and the present work was therefore painted after this date. The uncle of the sitter remains as the longest standing Treasurer of the United States. £500-700
