NO NAKED WALLS CELEBRATES THE START OF SUMMER WITH A CONTEMPORARY FLORAL SHOW
T
he start of Summer brings with it long evenings, picnics, Pimms, barbecues, and of course the much anticipated flower shows! As the excitement builds for the upcoming Chelsea and Hampton Court Flower Shows, No Naked Walls will be celebrating all things floral with a new show at their Bramley gallery. “Shades of Summer” will feature new work from “The Poppy Lady” Liz Spooner as well as pieces from Tessa Pearson and other No Naked Walls favourites.
Liz’s striking paintings of beautiful flora capture the true feeling of a Summer garden or meadow. Liz grew up in the Derbyshire countryside, and recalls walking to school through wildflower fields, which she could also see from her bedroom window. Watching the growing and changing flowers, appreciating the colours and smells, especially on warm Summer days is what has inspired Liz in her paintings today. She says “The land has so much to offer and the colour and patterns in nature are a constant source of inspiration.”
Liz has swapped the landscape of Derbyshire for the landscape of Menorca, where she now lives and works. She says, “Menorca sums up everything that I feel. The land, light, wild life and fields, the life

and the passion, they all form a constant inspiration.”
Liz has been included in a new book of
50 Contemporary Artists living in Menorca, including 6 British artists. The Bramley show will also feature original prints and watercolours from Surrey artist Tessa Pearson. Tessa’s unique work features bold garden favourites such as Alliums, Agapanthus, Dahlia’s and Tulips. She uses oil etching inks, built up in many layers and richly textured with additional elements of collage, hand painting and individual laser cut woodblock printed imagery. Her original techniques have evolved using vivid colours and bold abstract mark making to express the physical and emotional impact she experiences when immersed in a wonderful exotic garden or dramatic patchwork landscape. The show will open on Thursday 11th June at No Naked Walls Bramley. The gallery itself will be celebrating its 2nd anniversary in June, so please do come along to the private view 6pm – 9pm to celebrate the gallery’s birthday and all things bright and floral!
NEW JOHN CONNOLLY COLLECTION AT NO NAKED WALLS CHERTSEY OPENS 21ST MAY
John Connolly will be bringing more of his celebrated landscape paintings to No Naked Walls Chertsey on the 21st May. Portraying the sweeping horizons of the Derbyshire Peak District, the rugged terrain and ever changing light over Cumbria, North Yorkshire Moors and the shorelines of Pembrokeshire and Cornwall, John’s paintings are a very popular choice. John works predominantly in acrylics, but also uses mixed media, including found materials such as beach sand, dried grass, twigs, leaves and ferns to help make the marks and textures he desires. No Naked Walls Chertsey excitedly anticipates receiving his latest collection of work! Please join us at No Naked Walls Chertsey between 6pm – 8.30pm to preview this wonderful new collection of work. No Naked Walls galleries in Bramley and Chertsey look forward to an exciting exhibition schedule in the months to come. They also continue to offer artist workshops from the Chertsey gallery.
