Media Matters Works influencing the life of FPCA
God Is Calling, by 10:10
The first professional recording by 10:10, First Presbyterian’s alternative worship band, is now available on CD or in digital format. Titled God Is Calling, it features entirely original songs written and produced at FPCA and has been issued in the EP, or extended play, format—a middle ground between a single and a full-length album.
Te band developed the EP to share FPCA music beyond the church, send demo CDs to other venues, and respond to ongoing congregant and visitor requests for the band to release its own recording.
All five songs on God Is Calling have been used in worship. Tey are “Credo,” “Take, Lord, Receive,” “Sanctify Me,” “In Tis Season,” and “God Is Calling You.”
Te EP was a centerpiece of a Jump Start campaign to raise funds for capital purchases for alternative worship, including equipment the band needs when sharing its music ministry in venues beyond FPCA’s campus. Te campaign offered the CD along with prizes such as signed CDs and T-shirts as incentives for various levels of giving. Te band has been blessed to receive about $3,000 toward a $14,000 goal.
While the Jump Start campaign has concluded, the band is still accepting contributions for capital purchases to support its outreach ministry. You can buy copies of the CD for $5 from Adam Tavolaro as well as on
CDBaby.com, and in digital form on iTunes, Amazon Music, and other digital partners. (In addition, the band’s music has been played on the Spotify and Pandora digital music services.) Current proceeds from CD sales will go toward a designated fund for alternative worship.
“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.”

God Is Calling was recorded at FPCA in a multitrack format, meaning each instrument and voice was recorded separately and then assembled into the final product—the way studios typically record non-live albums. Original tracking was engineered by Trevor Vaughan IV and mixed by Obadiah Gonzalez of Upper Room Studios in Bethlehem. Mastering was completed by the Sound Lab professional recording studio, and the CDs were manufactured by Disc Makers Inc. Artwork for the CD’s sleeve was completed by Jason Velazquez of Quezart in Bethlehem using a photograph from Whitehall Township.
