As if that wasn’t enough,

Dr. Sirretta Williams is also seeking the 7th District City Council position in the 2015 election. She is an active servant to the

community and has been a community leader for the past 25 years. Through- out her career, Dr. Williams has been dedicated to helping the disenfran- chised have a voice within the commu- nity.

Dr. Williams is not a stranger to

the hard knocks of life and has grace- fully overcome many of life's challeng- es. She grew up in the inner city, in communities such as: Blodgett Homes, Cleveland Arms and Golf brook Apartments. All of these areas were considered low-income high crime neighborhoods. Dr. Williams embodies what

hard work, dedication and persever- ance looks like. She is not above life's unfortunate circumstances but in- stead, she has lived through adversity and can relate to others who are experiencing it on a daily basis. She has dedicated her life to fighting for equality for all. Dr. Sirretta Williams does not

run from challenges but presses for- ward tirelessly until amicable resolu- tions are achieved. She will not stop working until the task at hand is com- plete. Lending a helping hand whenev- er and wherever she is needed.

She worked for the Duval

County School System for over 15 years as a school liaison, mentor, and substitute teacher. Dr. Williams' days are filled

with overseeing the work of the Joseph Lee Community Center, located in the heart of District 7. She is the proud mother of two adult children, Laveranues Coles and Rash- etta Law and the grandmother to seven adorable grandchildren.
