Navistar dropped a lawsuit against the California Air Resources

Board after originally charging CARB with improperly certifying 2010 diesel engines using SCR. Te company said it believed the CARB certifications would allow the SCR-equipped vehicles to run for extended periods of time without a control of the NOx emis- sions even after the DEF ran out. Te lawsuit was dismissed after CARB agreed that EPA 2009 guidance documents, which contained the allowance, would not become board policy. Navistar also re- solved its challenge of the EPA guidelines in early May. ■
