atthew Glandorf, the music director at the Saint Mark’s Church, has worked to bring classical music to everyone.


And Glandorf’s latest project, the New Year’s Eve Christmas Oratorio of Bach’s Six Cantatas, ties directly to that mission. “I’m trying to break down the perception that classical music is


only for the elite,” Glandorf said from a center city café during the height of the shopping season. That’s when this reporter met Glandorf and Inna Lobanova-Hea- sley, a vocalist in the concert as well as the public relations manag- er of Choral Arts Philadelphia and the Bach Festival of Philadelphia. Glandorf, looking to the work of other music and arts organiza- tions for inspiration, “was trying to break the patterns of concerts as usual.” That’s what led him

he 2015 Philadelphia Mum- mers Parade follows a new route on Broad Street from


City Hall to Washington Avenue but the New Year’s Day tradition for generations of families remains as charming as ever. All are invited to Broad Street


where the Mummers Parade kicks off at City Hall at 10 am. Fans from near and far are invited to enjoy the Parade from three spe- cial performance zones as more than 10,000 glittering and colorful Mummers strut and dance down Broad Street.


The Philadelphia Mummers Parade features fi ve divisions, each with its own artistry, sound and customs. Leading the Parade are the Fancies, with their sequin- studded lavish costumes and feathered glamour. Next are the
