BTME 2015 buoyed by the return of the majors

Ransomes Jacobsen, John Deere and Toro commit to Harrogate show in their traditional ‘year off’

As we were going to press, BIGGA were reporting that BTME 2015 looks set to be a roaring success, with the Ransomes Jacobsen, John Deere and Toro Lely also confirmed as exhibitors in their traditional ‘year off’.

BIGGA’s largest ever ‘Continue to Learn’ education programme was thriving with some seminars already sold out. Plus, there are a series of free seminars for BIGGA members on a wide range of subjects, from ‘Staging the Open Championship’ to guidelines for fertiliser use, bentgrass, disease control, fairway renovation, fairy rings and employment rights. You will still need to pre-book for these free seminars at www.btme.org.uk

The Turf Managers’ Conference returns to Harrogate's Crown Hotel on Monday 19 January, with five more internationally renowned speakers providing ‘bitesize’ learning on a range of topics including customer service,

water conservation and precision organic matter management. This event is ideal for greenkeepers of all levels - not just Course Managers and Head Greenkeepers - as is all of the Continue to Learn schedule. Again, to book please visit www.btme.org.uk or contact the team at BIGGA.

Another highlight of a busy week is the ‘Welcome Celebration’ which takes place in the Royal Hall of the HIC from 5.30pm to 7.30pm on Tuesday 20 January. This is a hugely enjoyable evening celebrating the various greenkeeping achievements of BIGGA members over the last twelve months. Following on from the success of Peter Alliss last year, it will again feature a special guest speaker. Entry to the Welcome Celebration is free.

BIGGA CEO Jim Croxton said: “Our focus is now

firmly on ensuring BTME 2015 builds on the excellent foundations of recent BTMEs which have been overwhelming successes. We are constantly communicating with exhibitors to ensure BTME remains the ‘must visit’ turf industry exhibition and provides the best delegate experience. We’re extremely confident in providing this in January.”

“For 2015, we are particularly proud of our ‘Continue to Learn’ programme which is the largest and most comprehensive ever.”

BTME runs from 20-22 January 2015, with Continue to Learn covering 18-21 January and the Turf Managers’ Conference taking place on 19 January.
