TANDEMLOC Announces Personnel Changes
pleased to announce the appointment of Tom Prokop as Inside Sales Manager. Tom has been an integral part of the Caldwell sales team for three years, starting out as a customer service representative and then moving into the Univac Application Manager position, focusing on vacuum lifter sales and applications. Tom will be moving into this position, previously held by Darrin Noe, who is transitioning to his new role as Regional Sales Manager. y

Randy brings more than 26 years of “below-the-hook” design and problem solving experience. He will be the principal staffer and office manager of the new TANDEMLOC product design office opening soon in Janesville, Wisconsin. Randy will report to New Product Development Manager Jon Lamrouex, who is a 35-year industry veteran with extensive engineering and management experience. Lamrouex has led the two-year effort in designing the new lines of below- the-hook lifting devices from his position in North Carolina. y

> Crane Rental Corporation recently recovered a customer’s Manitowoc 4600 dragline that had slipped off a bank below 70 feet of water at maximum radius off the shore (no one was injured during the accident). CRC supplied a lift director, skilled riggers, certified crane operators, and cranes to perform the coordinated tandem lift. The machine was recovered with Crane Rental Corporation’s Manitowoc 2250 crawler crane with MAX-ER attachment (500-ton capacity) and Terex AC 500-2 hydraulic truck crane (600-ton capacity). The total weight lifted was approximately 484,000 pounds. Crane Rental Corporation had to prepare
pre-lift plans and submit them to the Mining Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) for approval before beginning the job. CRC has performed nearly a dozen recoveries after similar unfortunate accidents. The company’s proprietary engineered specialized rigging was essential for the project.
