Did you know that 50% of young children in the UK now suffer from some sort of allergy, much higher than a generation ago?
Research indicates that some allergies are genetic; however some can be triggered by environmental factors with babies being the most sensitive to these.
Key advice would be: • To protect their skin, bathe your new baby in just plain water for the first month
• Use a non-biological clothes washing product
• Consider using natural sheepskin rugs and liners for your baby to lie on
• Do not smoke around infants and young children
• Avoid spraying chemical cleaners or deodorants around your baby
Pre and Postnatal Depression Advice and Support
South London PANDAS is an informal peer support group, for anyone affected by pre or postnatal mental illness.

Affiliated to the national charity PANDAS (Pre and Post Natal Depression Advice and Support), the group was started in March 2014 by a local mum who had recently recovered from severe postnatal mental illness. Kathryn dedicates much of her time now (when not running after a lively toddler!) to raising awareness of maternal mental health issues, and campaigning for better services for all new parents. The group is run much like a mother & baby/toddler group - with added non-judgemental chat, support and shared experiences. It’s OK to not be OK.
