At its extensive testing facility, it undertakes fire resistance testing, and reaction to fire testing, as well as security, durability and weather testing, and acoustic and timber products testing to British, European and International standards. The BM TRADA Q-Mark is a quality mark covering product certification and personnel


certification schemes and is regarded as one of the most rigorous certification processes available for construction products.


Several Q-Mark schemes are available for doors and windows. The BM TRADA Q-Mark Acoustic Window Scheme has been designed to enable window manufacturers and fabricators to provide reassurance that their products are consistent with the originally tested specification and will continue to deliver the same level of performance. A key part of this scheme is the Q-Mark Window Acoustic Rating Label, which offers manufacturers a simple method to display the acoustic performance of their

products, clearly outlining the acoustic performance of the window system.


BM TRADA also offers a Q-Mark scheme covering the survey and installation of window and doorsets. The scheme has been designed to ensure that window and doorset assemblies specified (during survey) are fitted to a strict code of practice or formalised work instructions and comply with the relevant statutory regulations and manufacturer recommendations. Several BM TRADA Q Mark schemes are available for timber products, including the Timber Frame Elements Q-Mark scheme, which aims to improve the quality and performance of timber frame used within the construction industry. BM TRADA recently launched a new Q-Mark scheme for Marine Plywood to enable manufacturers to demonstrate to customers and specifiers that their products are fit for purpose.

manufacturers to demonstrate that their product complies with BS 1088 and has been


manufactured to exacting quality standards.


In the fire sector, BM TRADA offers Q Mark schemes for the manufacture, installation and maintenance of fire doors. The Q-Mark Fire Door Installation scheme has been designed to provide reassurance to specifiers, contractors and end users that the product they have chosen has been installed correctly and that it will perform as intended, while the Q-Mark Fire Door Maintenance scheme, allows members to reassure their customers that they are suitably qualified to carry out maintenance work.
