Tuck in to feast of talent


AUDIENCES devoured a veritable feast of talent when they travelled to north Wales to be enter- tained by the best young


farmers in the country. TheWalesYFCEntertainment


Feast at Venue Cymru, Llandud- no, featured a packed menu show- casing the very best talent young farmers have to offer. Twelve clubs from ten different counties had fought their way through county eliminators for the chance to take to the stage in the finals of the Welsh and Eng- lish entertainment competitions. The competition requires clubs to stage a half-hour production


showcasing a variety of talent such as singing, dancing and comedy. In the English language com- petition, judge Ian Sarginson awarded the coveted EGH Trumper Trophy for best overall performance and anFUWWelsh Royal Crystal Trophy to Llan- badarn Fynydd YFC, Radnor and their entertainment entitled ‘Just Chilled’. Laura Watson also received the award for best actress. In second place was Keyston Pembrokeshire,

home some silverware, winning the Paul Elkington Productions trophy for best technical achieve- ment.

phy and a FUW Welsh Royal Crystal Trophy was awarded to Llanfair Caereinion YFC, Mont- gomery for their Entertainment entitled ‘Y Canmlwyddiant’(The centenary). Llanfair Caereinion also received the Paul Elkington Productions trophy. In second place was Pontsian


YFC, Ceredigion, with Rhosybol YFC, Ynys Môn in third, whose members Carwyn Jones and Elin Hâf Morris Jones won the best actor and best actress awards respectively. They both received


Welsh Royal Crystal trophies kindly donated by the FUW, as did their fellow winners in the English section. Also taking place at the Enter- tainment Feast was the disco dancing competition where Clun- derwen YFC, Pembrokeshire were awarded first place ahead of Maendy YFC, Glamorgan sec- ond. Both clubs will nowgo on to represent Wales YFC at the NFYFC disco dancing competi- tion at the prestigious Blackpool Opera House during theAGM.

GIRL POWER: The best actresses at the Entertainment Feast were Laura Watson in the English section (above) and Elin Hâf Morris Jones in the Welsh competition.


BEST BOYS: Carwyn Jones, of Rhosybol YFC, Ynys Môn, (above, left) won the best actor award in the Welsh section, while the trophy in the English competition was awarded to Lawrence Hancock, of Keyston YFC, Pembrokeshire (above, right).


DANCING DIVAS: Clynderwen YFC, Pembrokeshire won the disco dancing competition and will now go on to represent Wales at the national finals in Blackpool.
