March 2014 Around Hampton Roads

will fund rehabilitation of the locality owned systems and HRSD’s portion of the system. The hybrid approach is estimated to save roughly one billion dollars over a 30-year period in capital and operation/maintenance costs as compared to the original approach. Localities will also benefit because long term liability for sewer overflows will shift from localities to

HRSD. Sewer ratepayers will spend less on the sewer system improvements required for regulatory compliance because the hybrid approach will focus on implementing the most cost effective projects in the region.

Suffolk Municipal Channel Moves to

Charter Cable Channel 190 The Suffolk Municipal Channel has moved from Channel 8 to Channel 190 on the Charter Cable System. Charter Cable’s transition from analog to an all-digital format has resulted in the change in channel position for the Suffolk Municipal Channel.

The Suffolk Municipal Channel will continue to provide live airings and replays of the Suffolk City Council Meetings and Suffolk Planning Commission Meetings in addition to a lineup that includes local events, exercise programming, and informational shows related to the City of Suffolk Municipal Government.

For more information on Charter Cable’s transition to an all-digital format, contact Charter Cable at 1-877-958-7119.
