Flux - Powder, Easi-Flo lu - Easi-lo - lu Powder

Easy-o lu Powder is Johnson attheys leading brand brazing u. t is sold widely throughout the world and is recognised as one of the best u powders available. t is very uid at the botto end of its working range resulting in early and etensive u spread. This ensures that the joint surfaces are well protected fro oidation at the earliest possible point of the brazing operation. This high level of uidity also helps to reduce u voidsentrapent in the joint, the low viscosity of the u aiding its displaceent by the brazing ller etal fro the joint gap.

Easy-lo lu Powder has a working range of - C. t is ost suitable for use with gold, silver, copper, copper alloys, brass, ild steel and stainless steel, but not aluiniu soldering. Brazing is a etal-joining process whereby a ller etal is heated above and distributed between two or ore close-tting parts by capillary action. The ller etal is brought slightly above its elting liuid S teperature while protected by a suitable atosphere, a u. Then ows over the base etal known as wetting and is then cooled to join the work pieces together. t is siilar to soldering, ecept the teperature used to elt the ller etal is above  C.

Easy-lo lu Powder has ecellent hot rodding characteristics and adheres well to a wared brazing rod allowing u to be transferred to the joint area via the rod. This characteristic has ade Easy-lo lu Powder very popular in hand brazing operations where the tie to produce a brazed coponent is crucial.

Clean and degrease the joint surfaces before applying u.

lu powder should be ied with water and a few drops of liuid detergent to for a thick paste. Paste should then be brushed onto the joint surfaces before assebly. urther u should then be applied eternally on either side of the joint outh.

Hot Rodding is where a war brazing rod is dipped into u powder and the u adhering to the rod is transferred to the joint area. This is an effective uing ethod but difcult to achieve good penetration of capillary joints. t can be used to suppleent a pre- ued area during heating.

t is good practice to echanically clean and degrease the joint surface before applying u. Heat slowly and evenly to the brazing teperature, without local overheating. se the u as a teperature guide - it will becoe clear or opaue as the brazing teperature is approached. f blackening of the u occurs this is often a sign of insufcient u, overheating or u ehaustion.

The u residues left after copletion of the brazing operation are corrosive and should be reoved. The residues for Easy-lo lu Powder can easily be reoved by soaking in hot water  C for between  and 3 inutes. Any reaining residues can then be brushed off in running water.
