Kandolhu Island Resort on the North Ari Atoll has officially opened in the Maldives following an extensive US$12m (£7.4m, €8.8m) refurbishment. Operated by Maldives-based Universal


Resorts, Kandolhu opened on 15 January and was formerly an excursion island for larger resorts. The resort has 30 villas in five differ-
