How long has it been in operation? Bauer Built is a family owned business which started in 1944.
How many employees? Approximately 500 employees in seven states.

How did you get into the business? Was involved in the management of Great Plains Tire Center, a sister company of Seward Motor Freight, from its inception. I moved over to Great Plains full-time in 2000, and was then hired by Bauer Built Tire when they purchased Great Plains in 2001.
What is the best piece of business advice you’ve ever received? Surround yourself with good people; support them, treat them fairly and they will bring you success.
What is the biggest challenge currently facing the trucking industry? Government regulation and the availability of quality drivers.
What changes have you seen in the industry in the past decade and how have you had to adapt? Te ever-rising inputs for the players. Helping them find solutions to minimize their rising costs as it relates to tires on their equipment.
What does the Nebraska Trucking Association do best to help your business? Keeps me informed on the issues relating to our largest customer segment.
