Hand carved ‘Joy’ pebble British limestone pebbles carved by hand using a small dummy mallet and tungsten
chisel.The letter is drawn onto the pebble and then chislled, gradually widening both sides to a ‘v’ section (an ancient process also used by Eric Gill), so that the light falls evenly and allows the letter to be illuminated. A single letter is then gilded with gold leaf.
