Krishna Indian Restaurant on the High St in Headcorn is housed in a beautiful 15th century Tudor building. Taste- fully decorated, the ambience is always relaxed and the staff welcoming and friendly. However, it is the food that tempts the customers to come back again and again. Serving mainly north Indian cuisine, everything tastes fresh and contains lots of flavour. A recent addition to the menu has been a selection of 'light & healthy' dishes, which have already proved to be very popular. These dishes are cooked in little oil using only the freshest ingredients. The vegetables are all cooked quickly to keep their goodness. Only fresh ginger, garlic and a hint of chilli and
some spices are added. Choose from popular dishes such as king prawns with baby leaf spinach, chicken or lamb tikka or chicken
with courgette and tomato.
Liz, the proprietor, has been running the restaurant for over 20 years and is very aware of what the customer wants. She said: “We try to offer something to suit everyone. Indian food is not about bright colourings or a greasy vindaloo eaten late at night. “A recent TV programme on Indian cuisine has really got everyone talking quite excitedly about the variety of regional dishes. Well, I am taking note of all this – it is what keeps my job interesting.”
