It’s hard to narrow down a favorite moment, she says, but “I think the most exciting was watching at the Duke Show in North Carolina and at Aiken where Abby won classes on U-Turn, a daughter of our stallion Mr. Wizard, with the little mare jumping for the sheer joy of it.” v
A Tribute to Maryanne Nicpon

On the cover of this issue of Warmbloods Today is featured a Holsteiner that Maryanne bred who today is competing successfully in the jumpers with his amateur owner Cindy Screnci of Boca Raton, Florida. Maryanne named him Larze, but he has since been renamed to Kasimir. Maryanne took special care to keep track of the many horses she had bred and sold over the years, but she had lost touch with this one particular horse. One day Cindy was surprised to find a message

on Facebook from Maryanne who had tracked Larze (Kasimir) down. She informed Cindy that she was his breeder and that he was the only horse that she had lost track of, and could she please send photos and keep her abreast of his whereabouts and successes. “I was so

and sold…it meant she really loved him,” Cindy remarks. “I had often wondered about his life before coming to us so I was eager to speak to Maryanne. I wrote her back right away, sent her photos, and stayed in touch each time Kasimir won a class or division or award. Maryanne would always cheer us on.” “I was so sad to hear of Maryanne’s passing,” she
