gardens in Loose village are opening their gates for


Open Gardens


the biennial Loose event.


The gardens are open from 12 noon to 5pm and entry is £5.00 per person.


Plants will be on sale at several of the gardens and homemade cakes, teas and a refreshing glass of Pimms will be available at the LAA tea tent in the centre of the village. For more information ring 01622 747058.


open forum Earlier this year, an open forum was organised by Loose parish council to enable residents to discuss traffic problems in Busbridge Road and surrounding rural lanes. Both the parish council and Loose ward councillor Susan Grigg have been contacted by members of the public voicing concerns over the           potentially lethal 40 feet drop along sections of Busbridge Road.


At the meeting several suggestions were put forward by members of the public, one of which was that a traffic engineer should be engaged to provide a report. LAA agreed to fund this


report which has now


been completed. It will form the basis of the next meeting which will be on 10 July at 7.30pm at the King George V Pavilion, Walnut Lane.

Kent County Councillor Eric Hotson and traffic engineer John Payne will be at the meeting but at the time of writing KCC Highways had not responded to an invitation to attend.


Scarecrow Festival...It seems a long way off, but we would like to remind everyone who lives in Loose that you can make a scarecrow for display in the village too. We have lots of gardens where they can be hosted, so get your thinking caps on and join in the fun of this great community event.
