DRAINAGE AND WATER MANAGEMENT Q&E plumbing
Uponor’s new Q&E plumbing system proved to be the star of the show at Ecobuild 2013. More than 100 orders for the Milwaukee Q&E tool, which expands the PEX pipe to fit the Q&E shrink-fit products, were taken on the first day of the show. Q&E is already the plumbing system of choice for the majority of European installers with more than 75 million fittings sold worldwide. The revolutionary new jointing system relies on the memory of Uponor’s Q&E pipe and uses a specialist tool to rapidly expand the diameter of the pipe and Q&E ring to secure the fitting. To celebrate the launch we’re offering a FREE Milwaukee hydraulic gun, which accompanies the Q & E system on every £500 order received for a limited period only. One free tool is available per installer. Uponor’s Mark Dowdeswell commented, “We believe that Q&E will revolutionise the plumbing market in the UK, providing a real alternative to copper and push fit.” For further information please telephone 01455 550355 or email

Filtration Innovation
Hydro’s innovative Up-Flo filtration technology has enabled developer Fairview New Homes to incorporate SuDS with two levels of treatment into the surface water drainage for a new access road. Environment Agency planning requirements sought two levels of treatment for the new commercial access road in Faversham, Kent, but a SuDS solution using completely natural features was not possible. Developers and consultants worked with Hydro International to develop a unique solution for the site which combined a custom-modified Up-Flo filtration unit with Hydro StormBloc modular storage and infiltration blocks. The drain down system eliminates virtually all possibility of blinding and clogging and the design ensures that maintenance is infrequent and simple. Everbuild success at
Totally DIY Everbuild returned to Totally DIY in 2013 - which took place at the Richo Arena Coventry on 10th-12th February - after a break in 2012 and what a comeback it was with two Best New Product Awards and high levels of visitor numbers to their stand. Everbuild were presented with two awards at the show: The Totally DIY Show Gold
Award for Best New DIY Product for Rendagrip and the BHF Best New Product Awards for the Evercryl Roof Repair
product range. These awards provided great exposure right from day 1 and, combined with exciting product launches, ensured that the Everbuild stand was inundated with visitors throughout the duration of the show. Totally DIY 2013 was the launch pad for Geo-Fix All Weather, a new version of market leading Paving Jointing Compound Geo-Fix which can
be used in ALL weather conditions – particularly in the wet - and to go along with the ‘wet’ theme of this year’s main product launch, Everbuild offered visitors free branded umbrellas and ponchos, which went down a storm and attracted much attention to both the product and the stand. As well as Geo-Fix All Weather Everbuild also launched a new version of Pinkgrip Dry Fix at the
show. The newly named Pinkgrip Dry Fix FR has now been enhanced to have ‘dual flow’ application and a B2 Fire Rating. Finishing off the new range of products was a 250ml size of Evebuild’s popular Quick Drying Wood Stain and Evercryl Roof Repair in Clear which is available in 1 and 5kg sizes.
