August golf tournament will benefit children PEF Region 8 is sponsoring a golf tournament to benefit the Boys and Girls Club of
Albany. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, August 14, at the Normanside Country Club. PEF Region 8 Coordinator Nikki Brate said the Boys and Girls Club was selected as it has successfully helped young children for more than 100 years. “This organization provides a safe place for children to learn and grow relationships
with caring adults,” Brate said. “To help contribute to making our communities safer and better, we need to invest in children. They are the future.” The tournament begins at 9 a.m. with a shotgun start and will include a four-person
scramble. All PEF members and retirees are welcome, even if you do not have a foursome. The Normanside Country Club is located at 150 Salisbury Road in Delmar. As details are confirmed, they will be available on the PEF Region 8 website,
www.pefregion8.org, or by calling 800-342-4306 ext. 227.—Deborah A. Miles
