2013 Omega Psi Phi Tri-Chapter Mardi Gras in Hampton


Over 1,000 people joined Tri-Chapter--Alpha Alpha (AA), Kappa Iota Iota (KII), and Zeta Omicron (ZO) for its 20th Annual Mardi Gras fundraiser at the Hampton University Convocation Center. The Mardi Gras was dedicated to the memory of Bro John Spellman who had been a participant of the Mardi Gras for the past 21 years—a plaque in his memory was presented to his wife during intermission. The Mardi Gras featured a costume contest, a 50/50 raffle, a step show and dancing. Additionally, best decorated table awards were given to Brothers Bryan Suggs, AA; Twin Riddick and Chris Jenkins, KII; and Sean Judge, ZO. The Tri-Chapter Mardi Gras is the major fund raising activity for AA, KII and ZO. Donations are awarded to local high school students in the form of scholarships based on merit and need.
