quality dramas and musicals to Clay County. First established in 1969, the theater experienced a setback in 1981 and held productions in various facilities for the following five years before settling in its current location. Upcoming shows include Anything Goes and Moon Over Buffalo.

Thrasher-Horne Center for the Arts is dedicated to developing and nurturing artistic potential in students, residents and visitors by offering professional theater, dance and music performances in two state-of-the-art theaters. Performances are wide-ranging and include musicals, ballets and concerts featuring a range of sounds from country to jazz. The facility also hosts the seasonal variety show, Clay County Christmas.

The Alhambra Dinner Theatre was built in 1967 and


remains a treasured entertainment spot in the Jacksonville community. Executive Chef DeJuan Roy cooks up a new menu for each show. This year’s offerings include Murder Among Friends, starring Loretta Swit and the Broadway classic South Pacific among others.

The primary source for national and international


professional productions on the First Coast, Broadway in Jacksonville brings a unique blend of musical and dramatic presentations to the region each season. The 47th Artist Series will feature performances in the Broadway, off Broadway, International Dance, International Opera, Family and Variety categories. Performances are held in the Times Union Center for the Performing Arts and the Nathan H. Wilson Center for the Arts. Upcoming events include Billy Elliot and Celtic Woman.
