ISSUE 46 – WINTER 2013 CITY®

City Security – The magazine that promotes security issues nationwide What will 2013 bring to the world of security? very warm welcome to our winter edition of City Security magazine.

In this special 40-pager, we ask “thought leaders” in the UK’s top security organisations and companies for their views on the challenges and opportunities in 2013. Comments are included from ASIS, BSIA, NSI, the SIA and the Security Institute, providing an informed insight into the year ahead.

As well as looking at the big picture for 2013, this edition also focuses on key issues for the New Year and the newly elected Police and Crime Commissioners, such as outsourcing police functions, big data in the security context, the rise of the open source intelligencer and ideas for developing a security strategy.

The Commissioner of the City of London Police, Adrian Leppard, discusses countering the threat of terrorism. And we look into the excellent work being done by the Metropolitan Police in using CCTV footage to identify suspects after the London Riots. We also include a fascinating history of security locking from a master locksmith.

Thank you to everyone for your very positive comments on our last issue; we are delighted to report the magazine now has a circulation of over 5,000 and growing. We are receiving requests for copies from a growing readership in the UK, Europe and beyond on a daily basis.

We already planning our spring edition and, as ever, are interested in your views on the magazine and any ideas you have for articles.
